\nI use two primary company’s to buy my domain names. Godaddy<\/a><\/strong> is the main one I
\nrecommend as they offer great introductory prices, cheap renewals and I’ve
\nfound the support to be pretty good too.<\/p>\n
\nMost of my sites are hosted with 1and1<\/a><\/strong>, these guys were my first hosting
\nprovider and they have always offered a good service, my only gripe is admin
\ncontrol panel is not cpanel and this can sometimes restrict certain
\nfunctions. I also have hosting accounts with GoDaddy<\/a> and Hostgator<\/a>, and these
\nboth provide good fast hosting and support if needed.<\/p>\n
\nFor all my websites I use Adobe Dreamweaver<\/a><\/strong> for the html editing and file
\nmanagement. But also use the FTP program Filezilla for moving large numbers
\nof files because Dreamweavers built in ftp can sometimes work slowly with lots of
\nfile moves. I use Adobe Fireworks<\/a><\/strong> for my graphics work, it’s best for creating
\nbanners, making buttons and similar web type graphic work.<\/p>\n
\nWordPress<\/a><\/strong> – Super simple to use and has a every expanding list of features
\nand plugins being made everyday. Great for beginners. OsCommerce<\/a><\/strong> – A complete
\nopen source shopping cart system, not really for beginners but can be setup
\nfor simple online stores. Best for more experienced designers looking for a
\ncompletely customizable shopping cart solution.<\/p>\n
\nPaypal<\/a><\/strong> – Setting up a paypal account is must do thing if you want to trade
\nonline, it’s one of the most common payment methods online. Use paypal for
\nmaking or receiving payments for your online goods & services.
\nClickbank<\/a><\/strong> – A digital market place where product creators can easily sell
\ntheir products online. Clickbank also has a vast number of affiliates who can
\nhelp to promote and sell your products.
\nSagepay<\/a><\/strong> – Helps process online credit \/ debit card transactions through your
\nmerchant account.
\nStreamline<\/a><\/strong> – This is the merchant account you need if you want to process
\ncredit and debit cards in-house. Otherwise credit and debit processing has to
\nbe done by a 3rd party like Clickbank or Paypal. Merchant account give you
\nmore control and often at a reduced transaction processing fee.<\/p>\n
\nGoogle Analytics<\/a> – This is a must have tool and should be installed on your
\nsite immediately. Provides a wealth of information above and beyond what you
\nhosting stats will show.
\nGoogle Webmaster Central<\/a><\/strong> – Reveals important infomation on how your site is
\nperforming on the Google search engine. Also provide some website health
\nchecks and backlinking information.
\nGoogle Adwords Keyword Tool<\/a><\/strong> (GAKWT) – Use this tool to find out how many
\npeople type in your keywords into Google. Great for finding new phrases to
\ntarget and understanding your market.
\nGoogle Insights<\/a><\/strong> – Track keyword searches over time and spot hot trending
\nsearches as they’re happening.
\nAlexa<\/a><\/strong> – Provides lots of traffic, ranking and statical details on just about
\nevery single website. Complete with Alexa ranking system which shows the
\npopularity of a website compared with all other sites. Our rank is currently
